Dr. Chas Shira
Pastor
His wife Katie and sons and daughter: Jett, Tripp and Truly
Raised in Hamlin, TX, Chas has been serving in full-time ministry since 2006, and at FBC Coleman since April 2018. He received a degree in Finance from Hardin-Simmons University in 2001 and worked in the business world before God called him into the ministry. He then went on to receive his Master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX and then his Doctorate from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.
Chas married his beautiful wife Katie in October 2013 in Longview, TX, and they now have three sons, Jett, Tripp, and Cal, as well as their daughter, Truly. Chas is passionate about the family, and believes his highest callings are those of being a husband and father, but he loves serving as a Pastor, and is grateful that God called him into this vocation. He loves to study the Scriptures and teach them to others, and he is excited about the opportunity to see the Kingdom of God expand in Coleman County. A close second to his love of the Scriptures is a love for sports; from football, to basketball, to baseball, he’s happy to talk about any of them at any time, and wishes he could still play them all…and be able to walk the next day.
Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
