Worship Guide 12/21/2025
Sermon Text: 2 Samuel
The songs we will sing this week include the following, provided in a YouTube playlist here and a Spotify playlist here:
Psalm 97:1-6
Angels we have heard on high
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
John 1 Responsive Reading
O Come All Ye Faithful
2 Samuel
Go Tell it on the Mountain
Romans 16:25-27
This Sunday we gather to rejoice that the Lord reigns and His glory is proclaimed to the ends of the earth. Our worship opens with the triumphant words of Psalm 97, calling us to behold God’s righteousness and majesty as King. Through beloved carols like Angels We Have Heard on High, Hark! the Herald Angels Sing, and O Come, All Ye Faithful, we will celebrate the good news of Christ’s birth. In our responsive reading from John 1, we will confess together that the eternal Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth. The sermon from 2 Samuel will point us to God’s faithfulness to His promises, fulfilled ultimately in Jesus, the Son of David. We will be sent out with joy, singing Go Tell It on the Mountain, strengthened by the gospel and giving thanks to God.
