This Sunday we gather to worship the Creator whose Word spoke the world into existence and whose glory fills all creation. Our call to worship from Psalm 33 reminds us that the heavens were made by the word of the Lord and that all the earth should stand in awe of Him. Through songs like Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, Come Praise and Glorify, Behold Our God, and Ancient of Days, we will celebrate God’s greatness, faithfulness, and eternal reign. The message from Genesis 1 will direct our hearts to the power and wisdom of God displayed in creation and ultimately revealed in Christ. As we respond with Christ, Our Wisdom, we will confess that true life, understanding, and hope are found in Him alone. We will leave encouraged by the promise that the God who brought light into creation now shines the light of His glory into our hearts through Jesus Christ.
